The game played at Panther Stadium saw the two teams go back and forth through four quarters of play. Leading scorer for the night was quarterback Will Young, who finished with two rushing touchdowns and two, two-point conversions. The eighth grade Roughnecks kicked off their season with 30-8 win over the New Diana Eagles last Thursday night. Leading the way for the Roughnecks was Dyllon Heist with two rushing touchdowns. Heist also carried 15 times for 125 yards. In the first quarter, quarterback, Landyn Grant successfully completed one rushing touchdown, with two, two-point conversions. He was nine for five for 90 yards, and completed three rushes for 25 yards. Noah Carter added a two point conversion and completed five catches for 90 yards. Mitchel Carter sacked the quarterback, forcing a fumble and recovered it in the endzone for the score. Defensive inside linebacker, Holden Hodges, completed 10 tackles and mad a fumble recovery in the win for the ‘Necks. Luke Baker also forced a fumble against the Eagles. “We did a lot of good things from an offensive standpoint. Landyn made his reads in the run game and pass game and Heist toted the rock,” Head Coach Jamie Salter said. “We will need to clean some things up on the offensive line to be better prepared for next week. The seventh grade White Oak Roughnecks stomped the New Diana Eagles with a 30-0 win Thursday evening. The Roughnecks are officially 1-0. Will Young contributed three touchdowns with two 2-point conversions, and Dee Williams rushed for one touchdown and added a two point conversion to lead the offense in scoring. Young also rushed for 40 yards, had seven catches for 105 yards. Williams rushed for 125 yards. Gavin Sipes had 45 yards rushing with three catches for 35 yards. Shaw Stevens added two catches for 60 yards. Offensive line standouts were Reyson Gajewski, Brock Reddic, Cade Sullivan, Ryan Owens, Hunter Smith, Kash Ybarbo, and Davis Toliver. Defensively for the ‘Necks, standouts included, Brock Reddic for three tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Reyson Gajewski added another tackle for a loss.
