Tech Club Members Finalize Reef Projects

By Madison Balboa and Kaylee Wilkinson Tech Club members are in the process of finishing and printing their coral reef projects. During the past three weeks students have designed a variety of coral specimens and constructed their own artificial reefs using Instructables and Tinkercad. Tech Club adviser, Michelle Cooper, has reached out to National Geographic about how their March issue inspired the coral project for WOMS students. “National Geographic is going to talk to some of the experts to see if they could Skype with us for the end of our project,” Cooper said. “If this happens it would be a great experience for our Tech Club and our students.” Students are using a 3D “Tinkercad’’ to design their objects and once the designs are perfected their 3D files are exported to the printer.  Tech Club meets weekly.
