Seventh Grade Roughnecks Bag the Cardinals 44-26

By Karson Lott  The Roughnecks won their district game against Sabine last Thursday by a score of 44-26, bringing their season record to 4-2 and district record to 1-1. Running Back, Dyllon Heist lead the way for the ‘Necks with three rushing touchdowns (50, 64, 28 yards), one touchdown reception (56 yards) from Quarterback, Grayson Thompson, and three two point conversions. Running Back Dalton Morgan added one rushing touchdown for 19 yards and one two point conversion. Eighth Grade ‘Necks Come Up Short Against Sabine

By Karson Lott The Roughnecks came up short in their game against the Sabine Cardinals last Thursday night by a score of 48-20. For the Roughnecks Gavin Bzdil lead the way with two touchdowns, one rushing and the other after recovering a fumble and taking it to the end zone. Ladynecks dominate Jefferson in District Contest

By Karson Lott The eighth grade Ladynecks won their district game against the Jefferson Bulldogs in convincing style, 25-6. 25-16.  Lexi Baker lead the way for the Ladynecks with one tip, two kills, four aces, and four assists. Kaylee Wilkinson added one tip, one kill, four aces, and three assists. Madison Balboa contributed three aces and three assists. Mustangs Beat the ‘Necks 30-6

By Karson Lott The eighth grade Roughnecks came up short in last Thursday’s game against Hughes Springs. The Mustangs outscored the ‘Necks 30-6. The lone score for the ‘Necks was a 65 yard TD by Gunner Solis early in the first quarter. The Roughnecks lost quarterback Landon Anderson to a fractured wrist in the third quarter and Gavin Bzdil went down with a hyperextended elbow in third quarter. “The boys held their ground the rest of the game and finished strong, not letting the Mustangs score again,” Coach Steve Gillispie said. “The team will be working hard this week to prepare for the next district game.” The Roughnecks will host the Sabine Cardinals on Thursday at 5:30...

It’s Time to Get Your Pink On for ‘Pink Out’

By Karson Lott  White Oak ISD will hold their annual ‘Pink Out’ tomorrow to raise awareness and show support for breast cancer victims.  According to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The first Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure was held on October 13, 1991 and was only open to women. Twenty-five hundred women participated in the first year.   Komen Greater NYC distributed pink ribbons to every breast cancer survivor and participant, the first time the ribbon had been associated with the disease.
