Eighth grade Ladynecks survive Gladewater with perfect district record

By Caleb Scott  The final game of the season was a bit of a struggle for the Ladynecks, but they managed to prevail over the Gladewater Ladybears and finish with a 7-0 district record. The Ladynecks’ won in two sets 25-18, 19-13.The second match was cut short due to time constraints. Emma Teague led the way with 10 serves, Kenzie Jester was right on her heels with seven. Together they contributed 17 points. “I think we did pretty good, but I think we need to communicate more,” Jester said, “I think we did good on defense as well, but when they freeball it over we need to work on getting better hits and passes” Also contributing was Bree Able with three serves and Mackenzie Goode added three more. Kahlen Reed managed two serves and Zoe Hightower added five more serves. Whitni Rayson contribiuted a serve and a hit, and Chloe Bates had two hits. Eighth grade Ladynecks dig up a win against Arp

By Caleb Scott  The White Oak eighth grade Ladynecks ‘B’ team dominated another district game, improving their record to 6-0 in district. The Ladynecks won in two sets 25-3, 24-9. Kahlen Reed and Emma Teague lead all scores with six serves each. Together they contributed 12 points in the win. “The ball didn’t really come over much, but for the most part we were ready. We need to get to the net more often though,” Reed said, “We did pretty good and we had good serves and the ball didn’t come back over. For the most part we played good on defense.” Mackenzie Goode had two serves, Lucy Phan had four,  Whitni Rayson added another serve, and Bree Able added five. “I feel we did well, but we could have defended our spot more,” Goode said, “We did good, but they didn’t serve the ball that much, so it wasn’t a very fast, intense game.” Next Monday the Lady Necks will travel to Gladewater to take on the Lady Bears at...

Alabama takes on Texas A&M Tomorrow

By Caleb Scott, Sportswriter  The Rolling Tide have been rolling over their opponents non-stop this season. But tomorrow they will face a challenge from Texas A&M. The Aggies came within two points of Clemson two weeks ago, finishing 28-26. Ultimately the Aggs outplayed Clemson racking up 501 yards and almost 100 more yards than the Tigers, who completed the game with 413 yards.
