The White Oak Ladynecks suffered a 36-18 loss Monday evening to the Gladewater Lady Bears. Anna Iske and Whitni Rayson paced White Oak with a combined 13 points. Iske had four rebounds and Rayson had five.
Chloe Bates and Emma Nix added two points apiece and Lexi Palmer chipped in one.
“I think that this is one of the most physical teams we will play this year,” Iske said. “They mainly pressed us a bunch which got to us, but we did a good job of getting open and taking our shots.”
Across the board the Lady Bears were aggressive in scoring and defense.
“Even though we lost by 18 points I think we did very well with passing the ball, and we became more aggressive in the second half,” Coach Cindy Lowman said, “I think we passed the ball really well, and ran offense very well.”
The Ladynecks made adjustments in the second half and almost matched the Lady Bears point by point.
“We went in as a team and while Gladewater was very aggressive, they were also very fast,” Rayson said. “During the second half we played really hard and came together as a team. We made some big adjustments.”
The Lady Necks are off next week and will resume play on Monday, November 27 at Harmony.
