The seventh grade ‘Necks improved to 2-0 district record after a 30-0 win over Winnsboro’s Memorial Middle School last Thursday.

Quarterback, Will Young, led the charge for White Oak, finishing the night with two rushing touchdowns along with one passing touchdown and one two point conversion. He also rushed for 85 yards and added 95 yards passing. Running back De Williams scored one rushing touchdown and added two, two-point conversions. Williams left the game with 115 yards rushing.

“We played very solid in all three phases of the game,” Coach Ron Boyett said. “Offensively, we ran and passed the ball effectively for the most part but we have to do a better job picking up blitzing linebackers.”

Shawn Stevens had one reception for a touchdown and Noah Fritsche added a two point conversion. Kash Y’barbo had two catches for 35 yards and two tackles for loss of yards for Winnsboro.

“Defensively, this was our third consecutive shutout and fourth in five games,” Boyett continued. “Our offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and we continued to tackle better.”

The Roughnecks will travel to West Rusk on Oct. 11. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
