The seventh grade Roughnecks beat Rains by a score of 6-0 last Thursday evening. Will Young made the lone touchdown on a  four yard run and added 75 yards of rushing on the night.

“Rains was the most physical team we have played which made it tough to move the ball consistently,” Coach Ron Boyett said.

Another offensive standout, Gavin Sipes caught two passes for 55 yards.

“We had to fight for every yard we made,” Boyett said. “Overall it was a very competitive game and I was proud of our kids effort and fight.”

Some of the Defensive standouts for the ‘Necks were De Williams with six tackles, Young with six tackles, two of those were for a loss, Shawn Stevens made one interception, and Reyson Gajewsky added two tackles in the win.

“Defensively we tackled a little better this week but we still must do a better job of getting more people to the ball,” Boyett said.
