High school and middle school twirl and flag tryouts are right around the corner as participants put a final polish on routines. High school tryouts are today and middle school tryouts are next Friday, April 27.
For high school tryouts students must play scales on their chosen instrument, march for judges, learn a group routine and perform it on tryout day, as well as perform a solo for judges.
“I’m very excited to be trying out for high school line,” eighth grader Lizzy Bueno said. “I think it will be a little tough since I’m an incoming freshman, but I look forward to what’s to come.”
Middle school tryouts consist of learning a group routine and performing it along with a solo routine for judges.
“Being older I feel like I can really help the younger girls out now,” seventh grader Kylie Wallace said. “I’m also looking forward to the many memories to come with everyone on the new line.”
