The Roughnecks beat the Jefferson Bulldogs 38-12 last Thursday night in a key district contest.

Sam Dusek scored twice with 40 and 50 yard touchdowns and it was the first two times Dusek touched the ball.

Gavin Bzdil had three touchdowns for the night, with runs of 15, 10, and 5 yards respectively.

Cayson Siegley made two big receptions in the win. One catch was made at the back of the end zone for a two point conversion. The catch of the night was a reception Siegley made on the sideline keeping his feet inbounds for a completion at the five yard line.

“The boys played their best game of the year that night,” Coach Steve Gillispie said. “Even towards the end of the season, we are still continuing to improve. I hope they play even better this week in their game against New Boston.”

The Roughnecks will host their final district game on Thursday against the Lions at 5:30.
