The Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets the second Wednesday of each month and the group has kicked off the 2017-2018 school year with the Fields of Faith conference on the agenda. The event will take place October 11 at Chapel Hill ISD.

The group started a year ago under the sponsorship of Coach Blair Magee and because Magee took a teaching and coaching assignment at the high school, new sponsors are seventh grade Science teacher Joey Bohn and eighth grade Math teacher Amy Heim.

“It is very important to be apart of FCA if you’re a Christian because part of our Christian walk is to have fellowship with other believers,” Bohn said.

FCA is an interdenominational Christian sports ministry to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

“You can use God when you’re playing sports; you know as a method to teach people,” eighth grader Isaac Allen said. ”We pray before and after our games.”

FCA meets next Wednesday in room 122 during lunch.
