The seventh grade Roughnecks rolled over the Harmony Eagles, 36-0 last Thursday night.

Quarterback Landyn Gant contributed two rushing touchdowns of 45 and 16 yards respectively and completed a touchdown pass to Dalton Morgan for 43 yards. Running back Dyllon Heist rushed for two touchdowns of 58 and 24 yards. Heist and Grant added two point conversions on the night.

“We have continued to get better each week,” Coach Ron Boyett said. “Against Harmony, we did a much better job of securing the ball, maintaining our blocks, and containing the sweep.”

Defensive standouts include, outside Linebackers Colton Millwood and Hunter Hill, Inside Linebackers Dyllon Heist and Dalton Morgan, Defensive Linemen Dylon Jones, Caden Tyner and Corbyn Fryant.

“We must continue to work on being more physical and becoming better tacklers but I do think we are making progress,” Boyett said. “It was good to be able to get a lot more playing time for our 2nd and 3rd string players against Harmony and I was pleased with our effort as a team.”
